Kimberly F. Manning, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 9, 1961, in Indianapolis, Kimberly was a cherished member of her community and an example of warmth and kindness to all who knew her.
A proud graduate of John Marshall High School, Class of 1979, Kimberly's life was characterized by her dedication to family and her strong work ethic. She served as a Medical Assistant and operated a home day care for five years. Her passion for education and the nurturing of young minds led her to work at Adams Elementary School after her daughter Katie began attending.
Family was at the heart of Kimberly's life, and she cherished every moment spent with her husband, Mark Manning. Married on August 5, 1989, Kimberly and Mark shared a deep bond, standing by each other’s side for over 35 years. Together, they created countless memories, including joyful trips to Brown County, which they both reminisce about fondly.
Kimberly took immense pride in her role as a mother to her daughter Katie, whom she regarded as her greatest accomplishment. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, encompassing two brothers, Keith (Dana) Wert and Kent (Tina) Wert, as well as several nieces and nephews and her God-Daughter, Kimberly Herron. She held a special place in her heart for her loved ones, forging connections that will last a lifetime.
Known for her friendly and caring demeanor, Kimberly had the remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. She was a person of structure who never met a stranger, always eager to lend a helping hand or share a warm smile. Her home was a testament to her loving spirit, often decorated with joy for holidays, particularly Halloween, a season she wholeheartedly embraced.
An avid Purdue fan, Kimberly enjoyed scrapbooking, cross-stitching, and the joy of cooking and baking. Her enthusiasm for life also included a love for Elvis and a passion for horror films, allowing her to express her vibrant personality in delightful ways.
Kimberly is preceded in death by her parents, Claude LeRoy and Vivian Faye (Abbott) Wert, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Kimberly's legacy will continue to shine in the hearts and lives of her family and friends, who will remember her with love and fondness. Her spirit will remain alive in the cherished moments shared and in the many lives she touched throughout her journey.
