Kathryn Sue Banther

Indianapolis – Kathryn Sue Hinshaw Banther, 64, passed away peacefully at 10:18 AM on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born to Billy Cleon Hinshaw and Mary Alice Fulk Deere on July 26, 1958 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Kathryn graduated from Southport High School in 1976. She had two children with her former spouse, Eddie "Bo" Russell named Dustan and Heather. Though this relationship was not permanent, Kathryn and Bo remained friend's afterword. Kathryn went on to marry William Banther in 1984 and together they raised Micki. She retired from Enterprise in 2021. Kathryn truly lived life to its fullest and will always be remembered as feisty "Lil Bit" and "Nana".

Kathryn was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Deere, step-father, Richard Deere and her daughter, Micki Banther. She is survived by her husband, William Banther; her son, Dustan Russell; her daughter, Heather Schafer (Steve); her father, Billy Cleon Hinshaw; her step-mother, Jean Hinshaw; her sisters: Debra Von Schwedler (Bob), Patty Doorman (Todd), Lisa Bragg (Kevin), Ellen Rinkenburg (Keith), and Mary Beth Dillow (Brian); as well as 6 grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Kathryn's family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at Newcomer.
