Hammond - Katelyn Ariel Golden, 26, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 24, 2019. She was born October 31, 1993 in Hammond, IN to Stephen Andre Golden and Seniqueca Chase. She was employed in the textiles industry where she served in customer service.
Kate attended Hoosier Youth Challenge Academy where she learned 8 core components: life coping skills, academic excellence, job skills, health and hygiene, responsible citizenship, service to the community, leadership and followership and physical fitness. She graduated in 2011 and went on to Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps. She received her GED from Penn Foster. She earned her certificate in Material Handling in 2013.
Kate's family described her as an energetic young lady who would give you the shirt off of her back if you needed it. She had a contagious smile that lit up whatever room she happened to be in and her goofiness made everyone laugh. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Left to cherish Kate's memory are her mother, Seniqueca Chase (Dameon Hall); father, Stephen Andre Golden; children, De'Marion L. Digby and Makhi D. Allen; siblings: Rayshonette Woods (Eric Jones), Rene' Oliver (Dantrell), Andre Golden (Faith), William Granberry, Jr., Bria Monroe, Jasmine Renae Hall, Dameon Hall, Jr., Shavon L'Oreal Golden, Stephen Andre Golden, Jr., Chassidy Aariel Golden and Avante Andre Golden; great grandmother, Marie O'Neal; grandparents, Kathryn O'Neal and David Chase; and many other beloved family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; George Crockett, Willelle Golden, and Charles McGee; uncle, David Golden; sister, Jacqueline Golden.
Kate's family will receive friends Tuesday, December 3, 2019, from 10 am – 12 pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1047 Kenwood Street, Hammond, IN 46320. A celebration of her life will follow at 12 pm. Interment will be conducted at Concordia Cemetery, 6551 Calumet Avenue, Hammond, IN 46324.
