Joyce Loraine Mazur

YORKTOWN – Joyce Loraine (Boyce) Mazur, 77, passed away at 3:17 AM on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Lesley Newel and Mary Josephine Hahm Boyce born on September 15, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Joyce married Dennis Cooper on June 26, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She attended Woods High School. Professionally, Joyce worked as a Paralegal for Lee Tavern. Joyce was an avid Chicago Bears fan. In her free time, she often went fishing and camping. Joyce enjoyed bowling, reading, playing bingo and online games. She loved her cat “Kindra”.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Christina Peters and her husband, Rob and Cassie Jo Stevens-Caster and her husband, Carl; her brothers, Harold and L.J. Boyce; her grandchildren: Dennis Stevens, Willard R. Cast, Ashley Cast, Maria Pappas, A.J. Pappas and Damien Caster; 7 great grandchildren; as well as her ex, Thomas Mazur. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Cooper and siblings: Roxie Huber, Teddie Jo Boyce and Larry Boyce.

Joyce’s friends and family may visit from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229.
