Joshua Lee Bracken, a cherished member of the Indianapolis community, passed away on February 19, 2025, at the age of 34. Born on November 20, 1990, Joshua was known for his outgoing personality and infectious sense of humor that brought joy to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Joshua dedicated his life to his career as a handyman in construction, where he showcased his skills and passion for helping others with home improvement projects. His commitment to his work reflected his character, as he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Family held a special place in Joshua’s heart, and he was particularly fond of his beloved niece, Ayvah Finchum. His love for family extended beyond just immediate relations, as he was surrounded by many uncles, aunts, and cousins who all found a place in his life. He was the son of Edward Gene Finchum Jr. and Deidre (Bracken) Finchum, and he shared a close bond with his brother, Anthony (Sydney Levi) Finchum.
Joshua's life was enriched by his hobbies; he found great joy in fishing and camping, activities that allowed him to enjoy nature and spend time with family and friends. A devoted sports fan, he was particularly passionate about the Pittsburgh Steelers, proudly displaying his allegiance to the team at every opportunity.
He was welcomed into the world by loving grandparents, Edward Gene (Jenny) Finchum Sr., Mickey Finchum, and Gloria McCauley, who played pivotal roles in his upbringing. Joshua's legacy lives on through the memories shared with his family and the impact he made in the lives of those around him.
Joshua is preceded in death by his uncle, Dan Finchum, and his grandfather, George McCauley. Their spirits will forever be honored by the family and friends who carry on their memory.
