Joseph Theodore "Joe" Pictor
Greenwood - Joseph Theodore "Joe" Pictor, 74, passed peacefully into Heaven on Sunday evening. April 18, 2021. He was welcomed into the world on August 27, 1946 by his late parents, Thyra Dillhoff and Henry Lawrence Pictor. Joe attended high school at Bishop Noll Institute in Hammond, Indiana. He attended Lewis University in Lockport, Illinois where he obtained his undergraduate degree. He then received his Master's Degree from Loyola University in Chicago. He taught at Bishop Noll Institute. Joe served as an administrator at Methodist Hospital. He also held human resource positions at RCI and Deluxe Paper Company.
In 1993, Joe married Linda Weddle Myers, and they started Compass Management Consulting, LLC, STATscript, and Compass Fine Arts. While Joe's education provided the foundation necessary for his success in education, healthcare and business, it was his creativity that fuelled his passion for art. Joe's bold paintings brought peaceful moments to life, capturing moods in flowing watercolors and transporting the viewer to another place and time. He worked closely with the Hoosier Art Gallery in Nashville, Indiana and his work has been on display there for many years.
In addition to his art, Joe enjoyed building and carpentry. A favorite project of his was purchasing and remodelling an old farmhouse in Johnson County. His most recent creation was designing and building a deck for his daughter, Brook. He was able to spend quality time with his grandson, Gabe, as they worked on this project together.
Joe was preceded in death by his infant son, J. Scott Pictor. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Weddle Pictor; children: Brook Ochoa, Chris Pictor and his wife, Andrea and Kelly Hodge and her husband, Aaron; siblings: Henry Pictor, Thyra Fulayer, Suzanne Hecimovich, John Pictor, Anna Pictor, Virginia Pictor and Thomas Pictor; grandchildren: Gabe, Evee, Asher, Anderson, Tatem, Pipar, Hady and Aaron 2; and many other loving family members and dear friends.
