Joseph Paul Maynard

Indianapolis - Joseph Paul "Joe Rummy" Maynard, 63, passed unexpectedly on January 9th, 2020. Joe was born March 8th, 1956 to his parents John Richard and Betty Rose (McElfresh) Maynard in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Joe was a graduate of Southport High School in 1974. Joe was a known as a "Joe of All Trades". He worked as a service technician at Sears Roebuck for over twenty years. He went on to work as a maintenance technician, which led to being promoted and transferring to Florida in 2002. After retirement, he began driving senior citizens to their doctor's appointments.
Joe enjoyed racing go-karts, camping, fishing, and playing the guitar with his dear friends in their band. Joe was an avid die hard Chicago Bears fan. If you knew Joe, you knew that he was a jokester and was the life of the party. His laughter, quick wit, and willingness to help anyone will be dearly missed. He was a man with many stories, always knowing how to make someone laugh and smile. He was preceded in death by his parents; second wife, Peggy; brothers, Rick and Tommy; sisters, Debbie and Teresa.
Left to cherish his memory are his children; Shauna Marie Maynard, Abby Jo Maynard, and Adam Joseph (Amanda) Maynard; the children's mother, Joyce Maynard; brother, Bob; sisters, Sharon and Mickey; grandchildren; Jackson, Damon, Molly, Maleigha, Dillon, Jayce, and Braylon. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and many loving family members and friends.
Mr. Maynard's family will receive friends, Friday, January 17, 2020, from 4 pm – 8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A Celebration of his life will be Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11 am at the funeral home chapel.
It was Joe's wishes to be Cremated.
