Joretta Fay Chappell

Indianapolis - Joretta Fay Chappell, 88, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019. She was born March 15, 1931 in Jasper, IN to the late Louis and Fay Ashby Oskins. She was a 1949 graduate of Spurgeon High School. She attended Herron School of Art and Design. Mrs. Chappell lovingly served her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed singing and was an accomplished artist. She particularly enjoyed painting. She also enjoyed fishing.

Mrs. Chappell was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 68 years, Robert Chappell. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Chappell; son, Robert Chappell; and many other loving family members and friends.

Mrs. Chappell's family will receive friends Monday, August 12, 2019, from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of her life will follow at 12 p.m. Interment will be conducted privately.
