John Frank Zook
Greenfield - John Frank Zook, 69, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, following an brief illness. He was born June 27, 1952 in Indiana to the late Jesse and Lula Keeton Zook. John graduated from Hamilton Heights High School in 1970. Additionally, he studied at Ball State, and transferred to Indiana University where he graduated with a degree from the I.U. School of Public and Environmental Affairs. He then attended and graduated from the I.U. School of Law. John was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army.
He married the love of his life, Dottie Neville, at Faith Family Church in Cicero on October 28, 1989. John retired from International Harvester and Lawrence Township Transportation. He enjoyed watching TV, playing board games, working crossword puzzles, baking, and cooking. Additionally, John liked working the Indianapolis 500 and Indianapolis Colts games. He was a true family man who loved spending time with his family. John always had a special place in his heart for dogs and he always looked forward to family reunions. More than anything, John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
John was preceded in death by his parents and son, Earthus Bilyou. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dottie Zook; 3 children: Rob Bilyou, Derek (wife Nikki) Bilyou and Alisha Perez; brother, Rocky Zook; sister, Ginger Zook Foutz; 13 grandchildren: Jessica Bilyou, Jennifer Bilyou, Jacob Bilyou, Sam Bilyou, Gabe Bilyou, Sophia Bilyou, Emily Bilyou, James Keener, Nicholas Bilyou, Ethen Bilyou, Megan Simmons, Dixie Payne and Shelby Payne; great-grandchild, Coleman Simmons; nieces and nephews, Barbara Scott (husband Tim), Becky Feltz (husband Ronnie), Jimmy Foutz, Brian Foutz, and Bonnie Knapp (husband Tim); plus, numerous extended family members and friends.
John's family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday, May 20, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. A funeral service celebrating John's life will be conducted at 1:00 pm. A committal service will follow at Philadelphia Church Cemetery in Greenfield. Military honors to honor John's service in the Army will take place at the cemetery.
