INDIANAPOLIS – Jimmy K. Yeary, Sr., 84, passed away on May 1, 2020 at Indiana University Methodist Hospital. Jimmy was born on October 12, 1935 in Patridge, KY to Charlie and Maude Marie (Maggard) Yeary. During his working years, Jimmy had been a butcher and a carpenter.
A deeply religious man, Jimmy would often tell folks to, "Remember, look up to the sky!" He spent his mornings on his porch taking his coffee and spending time with God. Jimmy loved his carpentry work, and often tore down as many things as he built, and things were always built to Jimmy's specifications. When you visited Jimmy, he always wanted to feed everyone, and wanted no one to go home hungry. In his younger years, Jimmy loved to hunt and fish. In more recent times, Jimmy loved Donald J. Trump being President of the United States. Although Jimmy was surrounded by a loving family, Jimmy really loved to spend time with his grandson, Timmy.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Yeary; children: Jimmy K. (Leanne) Yeary, Jr., Jeffery (Peggy) Yeary, Pastor Joesph (Michele) Yeary, Dretta (Gilbert) Elliott; step children: Jimmy Duane (Ruth) Smith and Timothy Darren (Kim) Smith; twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, and step son Ronnie Lee Smith.
