Jesse D. Freels, age 43 of Indianapolis passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness. He was born July 16, 1978 to Steve and Dottie (Bornstein) Freels. Jesse attended George Washington High School in Indianapolis. He was self-employed as a mechanic. Jesse worked on all things from Model T's, lawnmowers, 4 wheelers, limos, all kinds of cars, and many other things with his friend, Jeremy Langley. He was the best handyman and mechanic. Jesse could make pretty much anything out of nothing with just a few tools and his own hands. He could find easy solutions for complicated problems, and he had a great sense of humor. Jesse also enjoyed fishing, hanging out at the lake, and riding 4 wheelers. He loved spending time with his girls and his family. Jesse would help anyone he could even if they were a stranger. More than anything, Jesse loved his family, his girls, and his extended family and friends.
Jesse's family includes, 3 daughters, Alyssa Freels, Melanie Freels, and Brooklynn Reck; parents, Steve and Dottie Freels; 3 sisters Jinny Blakely, Diane (Joni) Freels, and Janis Davids; 12 nieces and nephews; 21 great nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members and close life-long friends.
A funeral service celebrating Jesse's life will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Indianapolis with members of the family officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 prior to the funeral service. Cremation will follow the services.
