Indianapolis - Jerremiah Brenton Jr., 56, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 16, 1965 in Los Gatos, CA to the late Jeremiah and Cynthia Lee Richards Brenton. He was a 1983 graduate of Vigo County High School. He served his community as a woodworker.
Jerremiah fought a courageous battle with stage 4 lung and brain cancer. He was diagnosed November 17, 2021. He later contracted COVID 19 and pneumonia. God saw him suffering and took his hand to end his pain.
Jerremiah's family described him as a man who enjoyed life. He also enjoyed giving to others, even if it was nothing more than simply giving good advice. His hobbies included: fishing, camping, barbecuing and bike riding. He also loved cooking and woodworking, but more than anything else, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Jerremiah was preceded in death by his parents, Jeremiah and Cynthia Lee Richards Brenton; sister, Nicki Brenton; and brother, Thomas Brenton. He is survived by his son, Jerremiah Brenton III; daughters, Erica and Jessica Brenton; sisters: Deborah Lambert and Hazel and Jennifer Brenton; brother, Scott Brenton; grandchildren: Bentley Brenton, Mercedes Brenton, Nevaeh Brenton, Dominic Brenton and Michael Brenton; and beloved ex-spouse and life partner, Dinah M. Brenton.
Jerremiah's family will receive friends from Friday, February 11, 2022 from 4 – 8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of his life will follow Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 10 am with Pastor Danny Thomas officiating. A committal service will be conducted at Floral Park Cemetery, 425 North Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222.
