Jeffrey G. James, 55, of New Whiteland passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. He was born in Illinois on April 15, 1961 to Marion Ray James and Janet (Tennis) James, who survive. He is also survived by wife: Sandra (Demeter) James, daughter: Laura (Jonathan) Bergdoll, son: Kevin (Shana Dennis) James, grandson: John Bergdoll, grandmother: Marjorie (Pool) Tennis, brothers: David (Norma) James, Daniel (Karen) James, sister: Cheryl (Jeff) Kingsbury, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jeff graduated from Homestead High School in 1979 and from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (cum laude) in 1983. He and Sandy married June 25, 1983. He was retired from Indiana Department of Transportation due to disability from colon cancer. A member of Our Lady of Greenwood Church, he was also a fourth degree knight in the Knights of Columbus. During his life, Jeff was a basketball referee for IHSAA and owned several Standardbred racehorses.


Visitation will be on Friday September 23, 2016 from 5 until 8 PM at Our Lady of Greenwood Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 10 A.M. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society. https://donate.cancer.org/index
