Jason Michael Arnot

October 2, 1985 — March 6, 2025

Jason Michael Arnot, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and gifted artist, passed away in Mooresville, Indiana, at the age of 39. Born in Indianapolis on October 2, 1985, Jason was the son of Cynthia Ann Arnot (Gregory) and Dean Edwin Arnot. He was a devoted brother to Sean Arnot of Indianapolis and David White (Brittany McCollum White) of Franklin, and a proud uncle to his niece and nephews, Kaylie, Justin, and Brayden White. He was deeply loved by his extended family, including many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who became like family.

Jason graduated from Covenant Christian High School in Indianapolis in 2004 before earning his degree in filmmaking from Columbia College Chicago in 2008. He spent most of his adult life in Los Angeles, where he built a remarkable career as a producer and editor, contributing to acclaimed projects including the documentary series Last Chance U on Netflix. He was prolific across multiple artistic disciplines, always creating, always pushing boundaries. In late 2023, he returned to Mooresville, the hometown he loved, where he continued to pour his creativity and passion into new projects.

Jason was the best kind of genius — the kind who would have scoffed at being called one. He was a truth-seeker and raconteur with an unmatched sense of humor, a deep well of knowledge on everything from fine art to philosophy, and a passion for life’s beautiful absurdities. He hated ideologues, loved underdogs, and always spoke his truth. To know Jason was to be challenged, entertained, and inspired, often all at once. He lived his life as art — raw, beautiful, and unapologetically his own.

Jason leaves behind not just his body of work, but an imprint on the people lucky enough to have known him. He was in the middle of making new work when he left us, a record of his relentless fight to stay creative.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gilbert and Jean Gregory and Von and Arvilla Arnot.

Rest well, Jason. You’ve earned it. We will think of you always.
