Jane Elizabeth Zahn

Jane Elizabeth (Forestal) Zahn, 94, Indianapolis, died peacefully on August 27, 2024. She was born August 17, 1930 to Joseph and Anne Forstal in Indianapolis. She married the love of her life C. Mike on December 23, 1950 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Mike and Jane were married for 59 years until the time of his death in April of 2010.

Mike and Jane were high school sweethearts at Sacred Heart High School. She was a cheerleader and Mike was a star basketball player. Jane was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved cooking and trying new recipes, and also loved to play cards, traveling and playing practical jokes. She worked for the Pacers Sports and Entertainment for nearly 50 years and enjoyed cheering on the Indianapolis Pacers. 

Survivors include her children, Kevin, Bethanne (Patrick) Wolfred, Timothy (Julie), Christopher (Amanda Jo) and Jennifer Carmichael. Grandchildren are Scott, Ryan, Ashley, Briana, Allyson, Alex, Margaret, Megan and Chase. Great Grandchildren are Grace, Isabella, Everett, Calvin, Katrina, Kaitlyn, and Charlotte. She was proceeded in death by her daughter Kimberly and her husband Mike. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Helen, Margaret, JoAnne and brothers Robert, Joseph, John, Jerome and Richard.

Jane will be laid to rest on Friday, September 6, 2024. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being made through Newcomer Funeral Home, 925 E. Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.
