Indianapolis – James E. Shafer, 77, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017.
Mr. Shafer was born November 28, 1939 in Spencer, WV. He served his community as a lawyer. His family described him as a man who loved people. He adored his family and would do anything for them.
Mr. Shafer was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 30 years, Alfie Shafer. He is survived by his daughters, Kasey Kristiansen and her husband, Karl and Megan Shafer; and granddaughter, Kinley Kristiansen.
Mr. Shafer's family will receive friends Thursday, June 29, 2017, from 9 – 10 am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of his life will follow at 10 am at the funeral home. A committal service will be conducted at 2 pm at Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky 40204.
