James Lee Hammond

Beech Grove – James Lee Hammond, 54, entered into rest on Friday, November 19, 2021, at his residence. He was the loving son of Erastus and Ruthie Ilene (Lagle) Hammond born on July 17, 1967 in Indianapolis, IN.

James attended Crispus Attucks High School. His hobbies were model car building, drawing and tinkering on cars. James could repair anything involving a house or car. In his leisure time, you could find him watching the history channel, playing darts or spending time with his loving family. James adored his only daughter, Brittany with all of his heart and they did mostly everything together. He loved his step-sons and missed them being little when they called him "Jim Jim".

James is survived by his loving daughter, Brittany Ruthann Hammond; step-sons, Richard and Anthony Beck; mother, Ruthie Ilene Hammond; father, Erastus Lee Hammond; sister, Roxanne Welch; grandchildren: Kayden, Mattelyn and Colt Connelly and Raylee Stinson; niece, Tiffany Welch; and nephew, Jeremy Welch

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM.
