Greenwood - James Lee "Jim" Entwistle, 65, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 in Greenwood, IN.
James was born on January 3, 1950 in Beech Grove, IN to James and Martha (Ellis) Entwistle. Jim graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1967. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a mechanic. He was stationed at Monkey Mountain in Vietnam. He was a long time resident of the Indianapolis area. He was employed at Atlas Heavy Machinery prior to retiring in 2007 after an accident. He was a man of faith and was a whiz at motors and machines. He was able to fix or repair most anything. He loved being with his family, fishing, and was a member of Bethel Friends Church in Mooresville, IN. Jim also served as a soccer coach at the Gathering Place in Greenwood and was proud to be a Boy Scout leader for Troop 263.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Valerie (Andreae) Entwistle; children: Jason Entwistle, Andrea Martin and Curtis Entwistle; 2 grandchildren; brother, John (Lisa) Entwistle, of Indianapolis; and sisters: Marylynne (Ken) Winslow of Southport, Dottie (Randy) Helmick, of Plainfield IN and Jackie Medows of Plainfield, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant daughters.
Friends of Jim are welcome to attend a celebration of his life Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Bethel Friends Church, 10492 North Bethel Church Road, Mooresville, Indiana 46158.
