James Harold Bush, a dedicated Union Brick Mason whose life was woven with unforgettable memories and cherished moments, passed away on August 9, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on March 11, 1948, in Monticello, Arkansas, to his loving parents, Jessie and Lucille Bush. James joined the United States Army, where he served honor, achieving the rank of SP5 and receiving the Nation Defense Service Medal during the Vietnam War.
Throughout his life, James took pride in his craftsmanship as a Union Brick Mason and his commitment to excellence was evident in every brick he laid and belonging to the Bricklayers Union Local #4. He attended Drew Central High School in Monticello, Arkansas, and graduated in 1966, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey in the construction industry.
James Harold Bush found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was swapping stories with his loved ones or hosting cookouts for family and friends, his warm personality and generous spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR, and following the adventures and drama on "Survivor".
Among his proudest accomplishments was marrying Teresa Lynn (Johns) Bush on October 9, 1976, in Wilmar, Arkansas. Teresa survives James, along with their children: Tabitha (Jim) Yates, Kathey (Darrin) Bush, and Jennifer (Dustin) Cloud. James also leaves behind a legacy through his sister, Virginia Smyrni-Killian, and his grandchildren: Jimmy and Donnie Yates, Joey, Josh and Jasmine Moser, Abby Bush, Dustin and Tony Cloud. His great-grandson, Anthony Bush, will always carry forward his memory.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Bush.
As the family and friends of James Harold Bush gather to celebrate his life, a Visitation will be held on August 14, 2024, starting at 3:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 5:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home Indianapolis, located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227, United States.
James' unwavering love for his family and grandchildren will forever be etched in their hearts, and his legacy of hard work and devotion will continue to inspire all those who were privileged to have known him.
May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and strength for those who mourn his loss.
