James Edward Bryant, 86, of Indianapolis passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his residence with his loving family by his side. James was the son of Eddie and Mildred (Dorsett) Bryant. He was born on March 22, 1930 in Indianapolis.
James was a member of Southport Presbyterian Church. He was a retired Real Estate Agent. He owned and operated Bryant's Barber Shop in Indianapolis for over 25 years. As a hobby he became a pilot and traveled to many places including Alaska.
James is survived by his devoted wife: Kay D. Bryant; they were married for 61 years; son: Douglas Allan Bryant; daughter: Kathy & James Shields; great grandson: Corey Bryant; seven grandchildren: Kendra Bryant Weilhammer, Krista Browning, Mallory Bryant Beavers, Erika Browning Tindal, Kelly Bryant Krumwiede, Blaise Shields, Lilli Shields; eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Tom & Judy Bryant; Janet & Bud Dudgeon; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Eddie James Bryant; granddaughter: Kari Bryant.
On Wednesday, September 28, 2016, Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a Memorial Service to follow at 7 P.M. at Southport Presbyterian Church 7525 McFarland Blvd, Indianapolis, IN 46237.
