Indianapolis – James Robert "Jim" Basey, age 83, passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022 at his residence. He was the loving son of Martha (Clayburn) Ryan. Jim was born on April 1, 1938.
He joined the Cumberland Metropolitan Police Department on December 3, 2012 and retired on April 1, 2019. Jim loved being a police officer. He received his Doctor of Philosophy and Religious Counselling degree at American College of Metaphysical Theology in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he also became an ordained minister. Jim was an avid colts fan and enjoyed watching football.
