Jacqueline Rose Dickey, a cherished matriarch and beloved community member, was born on November 22, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She departed this life on October 3, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, laughter, and countless memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
Throughout her life, Jacqueline embraced every moment with a giving spirit and a delightful sense of humor that could light up any room. She was a dedicated jewelry maker for Herff Jones, where her artistry allowed her to create beautiful pieces that held special significance for many. More than her professional accomplishments, Jacqueline found joy in the everyday moments, particularly during family holidays that brought her loved ones together, celebrating the bonds that mattered most.
A devoted member of Liberty Baptist Church, Jacqueline found solace and strength in her faith, participating actively in Bible study and church activities. Her love for the Bible and her commitment to the church were cornerstones of her life, reflecting her deep spiritual beliefs. Alongside her faith, she enjoyed watching old television shows and keeping up with her favorite sports teams—the Cincinnati Reds and the Indianapolis Colts. These interests painted the picture of a woman who was was involved and cherished her leisure time with those she loved.
One of Jacqueline's proudest accomplishments was marrying Steven Dickey Sr. on December 14, 1996, at the Clermont Lions Club in Clermont, Indiana. Their union was a testament to her belief in love and family, standing as a shining example to her children and grandchildren alike.
Jacqueline leaves behind her children: Bill (Michal) Estes and Vince (Michele) Blevins, as well as her siblings, including Betty Jo Yeary. She was a beloved grandmother to Chris Robinson, Dustin Estes, Lindsay McWilliams, Nick Blevins, Kaitlyn Killion, Miranda Close, Mackenzie Roe, and Cody Jolly. Her great-grandchildren, Carissa Magee, Will Estes, Gabe Estes, Olivia Blevins, Ayden Blevins, Rickey Killion, Kobe Killion, Titus Killion, Eli Killion, and Logan Roe were a source of immense joy and pride for her. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Bart Jolly.
Her life story is also marked by the loss of her parents, Frederick Elsworth Davis and Lora Ball, her spouse, Steven Dickey Sr., and her daughters, Jeri Rakes and Vickie Jolly. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Juanita Gosin and Charlene Freeman.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jacqueline's life during a visitation on October 9, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at the Liberty Baptist Church, located at 10450 East County Road 450 North, Indianapolis, IN. Jacqueline will then be laid to rest during a burial at Floral Park Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
