Heather Dawn Koesters, a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished daughter and beloved sibling, passed away on September 19, 2024 in her native Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on August 1, 1983, Heather lived a life filled with love, creativity, and joy, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered by those who knew her.
Heather was a proud graduate of Southport High School, class of 2001, where she began to cultivate the vibrant personality that would touch the lives of so many. Furthering her education, she received an associate degree, which was a testament to her dedication and commitment to personal growth. As a homemaker, Heather embraced her greatest role with grace, pouring her heart into creating a warm and loving environment for her family.
She married the love of her life, Brian Koesters, on April 5, 2003, in a beautiful ceremony at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Their marriage was a foundation of support, laughter, and shared dreams, and together they nurtured a home filled with love for their three daughters: Hailey, Brooklyn, and Claire. To Heather, family time was the most precious gift of all, and she cherished every moment spent with them, her heart overflowing with pride for her girls.
Heather’s caring and considerate nature shone brightly through her hobbies and interests. She found immense joy in decorating for the holidays, transforming her home into a festive haven that brought smiles to all who visited. Whether attending car shows, exploring new places while traveling, nurturing her garden, or indulging in her passion for shopping, Heather’s creativity and zest for life enlivened everything around her. Cooking for her family (sneaking in eating the tomatoes while she cooked) , showcased her nurturing spirit and her ability to bring everyone together at the dinner table.
Her personality was a tapestry of loving traits—she was funny, beautiful, and exceptionally creative. Heather’s playful sense of humor could lighten any room, and her considerate demeanor radiated warmth to all those fortunate enough to cross her path. Her vibrant spirit will be missed deeply in her circle of family and friends.
Along with her husband and children, Heather is survived by her parents Raymond and Kathleen Rigby. She is also survived by her siblings, Amy (Juan) Zamora, Dustin (Tina) Koesters, and Joseph (Krista Kolodziej) Koesters, along with several cherished nieces and nephews: Dustin (Justin) Koesters, Dawson (Kiera Sloan) Koesters, Lauren Koesters, Lillia Koesters, Silvia Carey, Sofia Carey, Annabelle Zamora, Madison Kolodziej, and Lincoln Koesters.
