Goldie Mae Kieninger Hockenberry

INDIANAPOLIS – Goldie Mae (Winters) Kieninger Hockenberry, 77, passed away at 4:18 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at her residence. She was the loving daughter of the late Ottis Gilbert and Rose Pauline (Shook) Winters born on October 28, 1945 in Beech Grove, Indiana.

Goldie attended Franklin Central High School. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking and playing games with family. Goldie enjoyed playing Phase 10 and going on joy rides. She loved camping and eating. Goldie adored her grandchildren and cherished her family. She retired from Walmart after many years of hard work.

Goldie is survived by her children, Sadie Rose Kieninger and Richard Kieninger; her sister, Sue Vance; her grandchildren: Ralph, Robert, Jerry, Earnest (wife: Jessica), Brandie, Lindell and Goldie; her great grandchildren: Jayden, Dominic, Alyssa, Liberty, Hunter, Cheyenne, Brenda, Prestina, Alexis, Jazmine, Zoie and Elaina arriving in January 2024; as well as one great great grandson arriving soon. In addition to her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Kieninger; sisters, Barbara Bemis and Marie Winters Mink; brothers, Ottis “Butch” Winters and Wayne Winters; and her great granddaughter, Justice Posey.

Goldie’s friends and family may visit from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Ronald Bowen officiating.
