Geraldine Jones

Geraldine (McLemore) Jones, 95, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Allisonville Meadows in Fishers, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Rev. James and Millie (Fugitt) McLemore. Geraldine was born on May 12, 1926 in Hazard, Kentucky.
Geraldine had a personality that blessed the people who surrounded her. She often enjoyed visiting her friends from church and those living in nursing homes. Geraldine took great pleasure in reading her Bible.
She married Orville McCoy Jones in 1945. Geraldine retired after 20 years from General Motors Company in the late 1980's. She was a devoted Christian and attended Northview Christian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana and formerly Far Hills Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio where she frequently worked in the nursery.
Geraldine leaves behind her loving sons, Daniel Jones and his wife, Joanie of Indianapolis, IN, Roger Dale Jones of Bedford, TX and Doyle Wayne Jones and his wife, Carol of Kettering, OH; her grandson, Keith Jones of Indianapolis, IN; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Orville McCoy Jones; her brother, James Hager McLemore; and her sisters, Clarice "Peg" Oliver and Bessie McLemore Eversole.
Geraldine's friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Boulevard, Kettering, Ohio 45439. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Vailous Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 401 North Miami Avenue, West Carrollton, Ohio 45449.
