Gerald Mcallister

Indianapolis - Gerald "Wayne" McAllister, 76, passed away at 8:54 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, January 17, 1945 to the late James Arthur and Fannie Lucille (Wheat) McAllister in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Wayne attended Decatur Central High School. He was proudly inducted into the United States Army on June 4, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was honorably discharged on August 30, 1963 in Fort Knox, Kentucky due to not meeting medical standards. Wayne had many jobs throughout his life. He was a Salesman at National Life Insurance Company for many years. Then Wayne became a member of management at 7-UP. He also worked for Howard Johnson at various Waffle House locations. Wayne was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shriners. He loved watching car movies, listening to country music and traveling.

Wayne is survived by his brothers, James Daniel "Danny" McAllister of Indianapolis, Indiana and Marvin Keith McAllister of Martinsville, Indiana; his sister, Donna Kay Walls and her husband, Mike of Martinsville, Indiana; and his close loving friend, Georgia McCombs of Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers, George E. McAllister and Joseph E. "Joe" McAllister.

Wayne's family will receive friends Monday, February 22, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Taylor officiating. For the health and safety of all guest attending, face masks are required. Thank you.
