Indianapolis - George Rolland White, Jr., 54, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022. He was born December 18, 1967 in Indianapolis to Blanche Wood Cox and the late George Rolland White, Sr. He attended Arsenal Tech High Scholl and ITT Technical Institute. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon for his service in Operation Desert Storm during the First Gulf War.
George held several different positions in his professional life. He worked in various aspects of the construction industry. Additionally, he served as a concrete finisher, but most of his career was spent as a cook. His hobbies included camping and fishing. He also enjoyed playing video games, but more than anything else, he loved spending time with his family and his cat.
George was preceded in death by his father, George Rolland White, Sr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Melissa Vance White; children: Robert White, Kathleen White, Scott White, Bradley (Rose) Preston, Brandon (Chelsey Batchelor) Preston, Andrew Pate and Amanda (Dante Gray) Pate; mother, Blanche Wood Cox; sisters, Donna Wright and Tonya White; brothers, Jeffrey White and Torrey White; grandchildren: Kathleen Pate, John Pate, Arianna Preston, Dante Gray, Jr., Darrius, Destiny, De'Lyla, Maddison and Jackson; and many other loving family members and devoted friends.
George's family will receive friends Monday, July 18, 2022, from 12 – 2 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of his life will follow at 2pm.
