Indianapolis - Fredrick Allen Caldwell, Jr., 56, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020. Fred was born March 4, 1964 in Indianapolis to the late Fredrick Caldwell, Sr. and June Shadday. He was employed as a carpenter for over 40 years.
As a young boy, Fred enjoyed riding go-carts with his brothers. He was known as Freddy, Little Fred and Fast Freddy. His family described him as a man who never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back for someone in need. Additionally, he enjoyed playing darts, horseshoes and going to concerts. While Fred had many interests, what he loved more than anything else was spending time with his family. His granddaughters were the light of his life and he called them his angel babies.
An amazing husband, father and Papal, Fred was preceded in death by his mother, June Shadday and his fathers, Fredrick Caldwell, Sr. and Keith Shadday. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Brenda L. Caldwell; daughter, Kimberly A. Shrum; sister, Angie Sanner; brothers: Chris and Ricky Caldwell and Brian and Kevin Shadday; granddaughters: Annabelle Shrum and Alivia and Mariah Shrum-Anderson; and many other loving family members and friends.
Fred's family will receive friends Friday, August 28, 2020, from 8:30 – 10:30 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A graveside service will follow at 11 am at Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229
