Beech Grove - Floyd Leon Evans, Sr., age 73, passed away at 3:01 PM on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Altenheim Family First Senior Living in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born to the late Forest Evans and Dorothy Hart in Indianapolis, IN on March 31, 1948.
Floyd graduated from Arsenal Technical High School, class of 1966. He attended Ivy Tech Community College and IUPUI. Floyd was united in marriage on May 29, 1977 to Glenda Rupert.
His hobbies were playing golf and softball. Floyd was inducted into the Indiana Softball Hall of Fame. He enjoyed watching sports, especially when his grandchildren played. Floyd cherished family outings. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and pets. Floyd was a member of UAW Local 98 and the Printers Union.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Glenda (Rupert) Evans; his children: Richard Quick, Floyd Evans, Jr.(Trisha) , Kym Quick, David Evans (Lori), Haley Quick and Skyla Quick; his siblings: Stephen Evans (Sandie), Marjie Guerrero (Rodney) and Becky Boles (Steve); his grandchildren: Ricky Napier, Jeremy Purvis, Krystil Davis, Amanda Delgado, Ciara Williams, Andrew Evans, Ray Evans, Jennifer Eavey, Faith Evans, Michael Evans, Abigail Evans and Christian Evans; and his great grandchildren: Tanner Quick, Isaiah Eavey, Breanna Eavey, Kaylee Eavey, Sarra Davis, Zoey Davis, AnnaYvette Delgado, Toni Delgado, Shawn Delgado, Luis Delgado, Lainey Purvis, Jaymee Purvis, Bianka Purvis, Peyton Purvis, Eli Purvis and Samantha Purvis.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his step-mother, Dorothy Evans; his brother, Gene Welch; his grandchildren, Dillion Quick and Dalton Quick; and his great granddaughter, Kinsley McCutcheon.

Floyd's family & friends may visit from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Randy Middleton officiating.
