Eugene T. Barker

Eugene T. "Boo" Barker, age 45 of Indianapolis, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 9, 1977 in Indianapolis the son of John Barker and Cynthia (Cunningham) Howard. Eugene was a 1995 graduate of Broad Ripple High School. He met the love of his life Carlie Lockhart on March 15, 2014 and officially became husband and wife on April 15, 2022. He worked as a commercial roofer and was most recently employed with C & R Roofing. Eugene found great peace when he was able to get on the road and ride his motorcycle. Every weekend he would try to find some time to get out there and take a ride. Eugene never met a stranger and made friends with everyone. He had an amazing work ethic, and had a heart of gold always stopping to help anybody in need. Eugene truly put others before himself and was the best husband and father.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Carlie Lockhart; 3 children, Brandon Eugene "June Bug" Barker, Blake Thomas "Peanut" Barker and Kasandra Lucille "Kassie" Barker; mother, Cynthia Howard; step-father, Clyde Goolsby; 2 brothers, Patrick Simpson and Chris (wife Shannon) Barker; father-in-law, Greg Lockhart; 6 nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.

Eugene is preceded in death by his grandfather, Eugene Cunningham.

Eugene's wishes were to be cremated and have no formal services. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions is honored to handle Eugene's cremation arrangements.
