Edgar Rivera Castillo

Edgar Rivera Castillo, a devoted family man and hardworking mason, passed away on January 3, 2025, in Indianapolis. Born on July 24, 1979, in Moctezuma, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Edgar was known for his resilience and positive spirit. His life was characterized by his dedication to his craft and his ability to bring joy to those around him.

Throughout his career, Edgar demonstrated remarkable skill and a relentless work ethic. He was a reliable and responsible individual, traits that resonated deeply in his personal and professional life. His personality was a blend of goofiness and ease, and he had a special knack for connecting with children, making him an admired figure among his family and friends.

In addition to his professional commitments, Edgar enjoyed a vibrant range of hobbies. He was an avid sports enthusiast, passionately supporting teams like the Colts, the 49ers, Pumas FC, and FC Barcelona. On weekends, he could often be found playing soccer, grilling for friends and family, or tending to his garden. Edgar’s love for life was evident not just in his hobbies but also in his enthusiasm for music, and his fondness for shoes, trucks, and sports cars.

Edgar is survived by his beloved wife, Diana Fuentes, and their children: Edgar, Eliab, Emir, and Hannah Rivera. He is also survived by his father, Domingo Rivera. Edgar was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Ines Castillo.

A visitation in honor of Edgar will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home in Indianapolis on January 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The following day, another visitation will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, leading into a Mass that will commence at 12:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.

Edgar Rivera Castillo will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and friends, his keen sense of humor, and the light he brought into the lives of many. His legacy of joy and hard work will continue to inspire those who knew him.
