Ft. Wayne - Eddie "Biskit" Smith, 45, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022. He was born November 6, 1976 in Indianapolis to the late Larry James Smith and Dorothy Sinex Kleffman. He served his community as a salesman for many years. He began his career at Furniture For Less with one of his best friends, Bobby Hamilton. After many years in furniture sales, he transitioned to selling cars.
Biskit spent nearly all his extra time at the Indianapolis Speedrome. He was always helping his sister, Kim, with her car or sponsoring and helping his best friend, Johnny Hargraves. Eventually he started racing personally and took home many wins. Whether he was turning someone sideways or standing on the roof of the car after a win doing the "Biskit Shuffle" he always had the crowd on their feet.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Larry James Smith and Dorothy Sinex Kleffman; sister, Melisa Sopke; niece, Sammy Jo; and nephews, Little Ray and Jackson Lee. Biskit had two children that he loved with his whole heart, Isaiah Grider Smith and Jazmyne Leeann Smith. He also left behind a granddaughter, Amora Grider Smith whom he bragged to everyone about. He would say, "Look at her, isn't she beautiful? Don't say nothin'… I already know she is."
Biskit was also survived by 7 brothers, sisters and their spouses: Duke and Connie Meade, Eloise Meade, Kim and Richard Rackley, Mark and Jerica Meade, Angel and Dave Pryor, Ruth and Jonathan Smith and Melanie and Richard Cope.
He also loved all his nieces and nephews: Hollie, Tony, Nikki, Ashley, Brian, Younger, Kodie, Melinda, Alyssa, Bubby "Lil' Mark", Kurt, Destanie, Joey, Tyler and Trevor "Pony Boy." There were times he would get them fired up and laugh and other times, he would hug them and tell them everything was going to be alright. There wasn't one he loved more than the next. He also had 12 great nieces and nephews and many cousins that he loved.
