INDIANAPOLIS – Dustin Michael Kay, 46, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on April 25, 1977 to Michael Eugene Kay and Debra Ann Duncan in Indianapolis, IN.
Dustin graduated from Avon High School in 1995. He majored in Art at Cayuga College, graduating in 2006. Professionally, Dustin was a talented graphic designer. He successfully owned and operated “Wrap–A–Lot Graphix” in Indianapolis, IN.
Dustin’s hobbies were creating art, wood working, filmmaking, golfing, cooking and grilling. He was an art enthusiast. Dustin was incredibly passionate about his work and loved that he was able to meet new people and make their visions possible. He enjoyed spending time with his boys and always looked forward to dressing up together on Halloween. Additionally, he enjoyed making ginormous bonfires, celebrating “April Fool’s Day” as if it were a major holiday and playing jokes on family. A few of Dustin’s favorite things were vacationing in Florida with his family and being a father and uncle.
Dustin could never just do one thing at a time. He was constantly coming up with new ideas. Dustin always helped out anyone he could, the type of guy who knew no stranger. He was humorous and seriously had the best sense of humor. He was kind hearted, loyal to a fault and a devoted Christian. Dustin’s creativity, leadership, intelligence, determination and love will be missed by all those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted and Shirley King. Dustin is survived by his children: Cooper, Cyrus and Ezra Kay; sister, Alisha Ann Brown; brother, Tyler Joseph Kay; mother, Debra Ann Duncan; father, Michael Eugene Kay; grandparents, Delbert E. Sr. & Sandra A. Duncan and Walter E. Kay; aunts: Cathy, Carla, Julie, Karen, Victoria and Marie; uncles: Mike, Delbert Jr., Brian and Jay; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended relatives.
Dustin’s friends and family may visit from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
