INDIANAPOLIS – Douglas Earl Thompson, 53, died at 9:00 PM on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at his residence. He was born on August 23, 1969 to the late Terry Sr. and Betty Williams Thompson in Indianapolis, IN. Douglas was united in marriage on November 17, 2000 to the late Brenda Sue Garner in Indianapolis, IN.
He attended both Emmerich Manual High School and Broadripple High School. Douglas worked for Taco Bell for several years before he became disabled. He was a member of The Friendly Church of Nazarene and Impact OSS.
Douglas' hobbies included collecting music, scrapping and painting. He loved watching football and wrestling. Douglas was an avid colts fan. He also loved drinking Mountain Dew and coffee with a minimum of 20 sugars. Douglas enjoyed going to concerts, listening to music and mowing grass.
He was a simple man who loved talking to people. Douglas never met a stranger. He was definitely a mama's boy. Douglas loved his son and late wife deeply. He also loved his extended family and friends dearly. Douglas' favorite line to say to his family was, "But ayeee" and "Buh-Bud". He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Douglas is survived by his loving son, Sean Thompson; step-son, Nathan Garner; step-daughter, Breanna Garner-Patton; sisters, Brenda Estes, Nancy Thompson and Sherry Sheets; brother, Terry "Bubby" Thompson Jr.; step-grandchildren: Madison, Lexi, Henry, Mykia, Logan, Ebony and Harmony; and his cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family, friends and his home away from home Nashville, TN.
In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his loving wife, Brenda Sue Thompson.
