Douglas A. Smith Sr.

Douglas A. Smith Sr., 56, of Indianapolis, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 12, 2017. Doug was born to Pat and James Smith in Indianapolis on Oct. 11, 1960. He graduated from Manuel High School in 1978 and married Elizabeth Sullivan on Jan. 25, 1986. He worked for Bowers Envelope for over 31 years. Doug was a member of First United Evangelical Church. Doug enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family and loved his cat Pong. Doug was such a jokester and loved to make other people laugh.

He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth S. Smith; son and daughter-in-law: Douglas A. Smith II & Chelsey; daughter and son-in-law: Jennifer & Royce Kelly, grandchildren:
Elliot, Layla, Julius and one on the way, step-brothers: Lloyd Daub, Bob Daub and a host of other family and friends.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents: father: James C. Smith, mother: Patricia J. Daub, step-father: Richard W. Daub, step-brothers: Steven Daub, Darwin Daub.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 925 East Hanna Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. His Home Going Service will be Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
