Douglas Earl Keller, 79, passed away on June 1 after a long hospitalization.
He was born on July 7, 1937 to Lloyd Weaver and Evelyn Louise (Lanham) Keller in Indianapolis, IN. Doug attended Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Purdue University in Electrical Engineering.
Early in his work career Doug was a teacher, then continued his service to our country as a civilian program manager for the Air Force, which took him from Indianapolis to Dayton, OH. He served in this role for almost 30 years, retiring in 1997.
Throughout Doug's life, family was his highest priority. Whether family or friend, Doug was always there with a call, card or visit whenever needed. He loved annual family fishing trips and golf, but most enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Darrell Lee Keller, all of Indianapolis. He is survived by son, Curtis Keller, and daughter Nikki (Mark) Stover and five grandchildren, Collin Talbert and Michaela, Kinsey, Gracyn and Sutton Stover. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and cousin.
A memorial service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432) on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 4pm. Family will greet guests for two hours prior (2pm-4pm). A second memorial service for family will be held at Englewood Christian Church (57 N. Rural St., Indianapolis, IN 46201)
