Naples, FL - Dorothy Ann "Dottie" Hughes, 90, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015.
Mrs. Hughes was born February 22, 1925 on Washington Street, on Washington's Birthday, in Indianapolis. She served as a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital. She was a longtime member of Indianapolis Baptist Temple where she was known affectionately as Aunt Dot.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Gene Hughes; sons, Warren D. Walker of Naples, FL, Michael (and Kathy) Hughes of Naples, FL, Timothy (and Mary) Walker of Indianapolis, IN; daughters, Daleann (and Dr. Bruce) Gelinas of Naples, FL, Barbara (and Fred) Phelps of Green Cove Springs, FL, and Patty (and Jan) Romer of Green Cove Springs, FL; grandchildren, Nicole Gelinas Powers, Tyler Gelinas, Grant Gelinas, Hunter Gelinas, Conner Gelinas, Jeremy Barker, Julie Phelps, Matt Romer, and Tara Walker; and six great-grandchildren, Taylon Gelinas, Abigail Barker, Taylor Romer, Melvin Jones, McKenzie Romer, and Austin Barker.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Mrs. Hughes' family requests that memorial donations be made to Seagate Baptist Church, 1010 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105.
