Dorothy Edna Brydges

Indianapolis – Dorothy Edna Brydges, age 64, passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late William and Dorothy E. (Pritchett) Brydges. Dorothy was born on May 3, 1957 in Indianapolis, IN.

Dorothy graduated from Southport High School, class of 1975. She was especially sweet and kind. Dorothy was crafty and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She worked in the emergency room as unit secretary at Indiana University Methodist Hospital for nearly 40 years. Dorothy loved organizing events and pitch-ins at her work.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Kathy John and her husband, Michael; her brothers, Jack Brydges and his wife, Brenda and Jim Brydges and his wife, Anna; his nephew, Mikey Brydges; his nieces, Heather John, Karen Wells, Shelly John, Cheryl Brydges and Sheree Brydges; as well as many extended relatives.

Dorothy's friends and family may visit from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Petty officiating. Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Greenwood Cemetery, 620 West Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana 46142.
