Dorothy Louise Allen

Dorothy Louise “Dottie” Allen, 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024. 

Dottie was born August 26, 1944 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to parents Dorothy (Hugar) Tryon and Bryan “Bud” Tryon. 

Dottie is survived by her children: Shawn P. Kinney and his wife, Ann, Parrish A. Kinney and his wife, Laurie and Tiffany R. Kinney and her husband, Dave, whom she shared with former spouse, Fredrick Kinney. Grandchildren include Daniel Kinney, Rebekah Kinney and Brian, Vittorina Keith and her husband Cody, and Juliana and Alayna Brodin. 

She is also survived by her sister Sharon Rolls and her husband, Randy, and brother Michael “Mike” Tryon and his wife, Rachael. 

She is preceded in death by her brother Richard Terrance “Terry” Tryon and her parents Dorothy Brust and Bryan “Bud” Tryon.

Dottie will be remembered as a dedicated mother, grandmother, and wife. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crafting and games when she was able to see well. Her most cherished days were spent with her family and she was often heard saying “I love my family.” She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and had several close friendships. She loved visiting with people and she will be remembered for her cooking, laughter, and love of the Christmas holiday.

Graveside burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery for close friends and family.
