Donna Rae Nunn

Donna Rae Nunn, age 79 of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023. She was born November 27, 1943 in Indianapolis the daughter of Benjamin Ray and Remore Johanne (Hansen) Blake. Donna was a 1961 graduate of Ben Davis High School. She married the love of her life, Gary Dale Nunn in March of 1963 and they spent over 46 years of marriage together before his passing in 2009. Donna enjoyed reading and sewing. She loved to cook and bake and was known as the “Bread Queen” in her family. Donna made the most amazing pies, cakes and bread anyone had ever eaten. She always put others before herself and would give the shirt off her back if it meant putting a smile on someone’s face. More than anything, Donna loved the Lord and will be remembered as a loving mother and granny.

Donna is survived by 4 children, John D. (wife Beverly) Nunn, Johanna (husband David) Nunn-Fisher, Anna Christine (husband Rolando) Posadas and Stephen Nunn; sister, Janet Lee (husband Randy) Cranor; 3 grandchildren, Jocelyn Hawkins, John Slone and Alyssa Moreno; 6 great-grandchildren, Ziva Hawkins, Alexander Slone, Samuel Williams, Grace Moreno, Arabella Moreno and Joshua Moreno; and several nieces and nephews.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary Dale Nunn; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.

A funeral service honoring Donna’s life will take place at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Faith Trinity Church, 505 Pennsylvania Ave., Shelbyville, IN 46176. A public visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, prior to the service on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the church. Following the service, burial will take place at Valhalla Memory Gardens, 310 N Johnson Ave, Bloomington, IN 47404.
