Donald Earl Overton, Jr.

Donald Earl Overton, Jr., age 71 of Indianapolis passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at his residence. He was born September 13, 1951 at Camp Atterbury the son of Donald and Wilma Overton, Sr. Don was a 1970 graduate of Emanuel High School. He retired from Ameritech in 2010 after working as a cable technician for 39 years. Don began dating the love his life, Brenda Gray on July 1, 1994, and they became married on February 6, 1999 in Carmel, Indiana surrounded by their close friends and family. He loved to ride motorcycles and had many special bikes over the years. Don liked to watch Nascar, the Indy 500 and liked to go to races. Don and Brenda moved to Florida for a few years, until they decided they wanted to come back home to Indiana. Don loved his fur babies and spending time with his family. More than anything, Don lived a great happy life and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Don is survived by his wife of 24 years, Brenda D. Overton; 4 children, Crystal Overton, Robert (wife Angelica) Overton, Cathy (husband Scott) Kavis and Marshall (wife Laurie) Wendell; brother, John Overton; sister, Beverly Clark; sister-in-law, Carolyn Overton; 11 grandchildren, Jackson, Wyatt, Ava, Christopher, Casey, Dianna, Myranda, Joey, Marissa, Cheyenne and Zachary; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Joe Overton and Charlie Overton.

A visitation honoring Don's life will take place from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 E. Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227.
