Donald Morgan Cherry

FAIRLAND – Donald Morgan “Duck” Cherry, 66, passed into eternal rest at 6:37 AM on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at his home with his loving partner by his side. He was born on January 18, 1958 to the late James Morgan Cherry and Betty Jean Forshee Cherry in Franklin, Kentucky.

Donald enjoyed going to the Casino, junking through the alleys, helping his nephew (Roger Ford) repo cars, finding treasures at yard sales, and throwing rocks. Can’t not forget how much he loved his sweets and snack cakes just like his mom (Betty Cherry).

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his oldest brother James T. Cherry and his great-great niece Nevaeh Ford.

Donald leaves to cherish his precious memories, his love of 16 1/2 years, Ann Bluck; his daughter, La Donna Price; stepdaughter’s, Amanda Houchens and Wanda (David) Pennington; his siblings, Shirley Grace, Peggy Schmidt, Lisa Zigler, Kevin (Leetha) Cherry and Scott Cherry; 6 grandchildren: Elijah, Marcel, La Daysha, La Daya, Boston, and Shyla; and numerous nephews, great nephews, 2 great-great nephews, nieces, great nieces, family, and friends.

Donald’s friends and family may visit from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Roosevelt Owens officiating.
