Indianapolis - Diana Lynn Brandenburg, 70, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020. She was born July 14, 1949 in Indianapolis to the late Richard and Mary Lynch Downing. She was a 1967 graduate of Decatur High School. Diana worked for several different companies in her professional life including FedEx, Marsh and Decatur Township where she served as a school bus driver.
Diana loved Princess Diana and enjoyed traveling to England to see her. Additionally, she loved watching the Hallmark Channel, going to the casino and taking cruises with her mom. She was a member of VFW Post 908 ladies auxiliary. She lived for her family and made sure they were all well taken care of.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Downing and her beloved dog, Baby. She is survived by her companion, Morce Brandenburg; daughter, Maryellen Lanham and her partner, Chris; son, Billy Newt and his wife, Jacqueline; sisters, Dixie Cook and Dana Mills; grandchildren: Ashley, Amber, Chelsea and David; and great-grandchildren: Raelynn, Jazlynn, Domanick, Bryston, Elijah, Hayden and Harmony.
Diana's family will receive friends Wednesday, January 8, 2019, from 5-8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of her life will be conducted Thursday, January 9, 2019, at 10 am at the funeral home. A committal service will follow at West Newton Cemetery.
