Derek James Skaggs

Indianapolis – Derek James Skaggs, 29, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022. He was born December 28, 1992 in Indianapolis to Kevin and Deborah Collins Skaggs. Derek graduated from Perry Meridian High School in 2011.He was employed by Ferguson where he served as a warehouse associate. He enjoyed cooking and taking his daughter on daddy/daughter dates. Additionally, he enjoyed listening to music and finding new movies to watch.

Derek was preceded in death by his sister, Heather Skaggs and his love, Courtney Billerman. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Caylee Skaggs; parents, Kevin and Deborah Collins Skaggs; sisters: Brandi (William) Skaggs, Ashley (Ron) Pruitt and Carli (Leon) Skaggs; and many other loving family members.

Derek's family will receive friends Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 11 am – 1 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of his life will follow at 1 pm.
