Deena Lee Blackmon

Indianapolis – Deena Lee Blackmon, 41, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019. She was born, February 15, 1978 in Beech Grove, IN to Dennis and Rhonda Jaynes Blackmon. Deena was a graduate of Greenwood Community High School, Class of 1996.

Deena was a true lover of music, especially the 1990's grunge/metal bands. In her younger years, she attended as many concerts as she could. Deena enjoyed cooking and hosting family and friends for dinner. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy, which allowed her to show her intellect. In the end, she cherished spending time with her family, whom meant the world to her.

Deena is survived by her daughter, Sidney Goins; son, Eric Blackmon; parents, Dennis and Rhonda Blackmon; brother, Todd (Terese) Blackmon; significant other, Ian Spangler; two nephews; and many loving aunts, cousins and dear friends.

Deena's family will receive friends Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 4-8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of her life will be conducted Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
