Deborah Sue Underwood

Indianapolis – Deborah Sue (Passwater) Underwood, age 66, passed away at 9:18 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Indiana University Health West Hospital in Avon, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Howard Orville Sr. and Marjorie Melvin (Ford) Passwater born on January 26, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Deborah graduated from Harry E. Wood High School, class of 1973. During her leisure time she watched scary movies, played games on her phone and occasionally enjoyed an adult beverage. Deborah enjoyed the holidays, having the entire family get together and listening to her favorite singer Elvis. She loved spending time with her family.

Deborah leaves behind her children, Marjorie Smith, Patricia Jordan and Charles Miller III; her siblings, Joyce (Allen) Eyster and Darlene Miller; her grandchildren, Brittany Irish, McKenzie Jordan, Josh Jordan Jr. and Skilyn Jordan; her great granddaughter, Presley June Irish; her forever friend, Robin Ott-Kekar; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Patricia Adams, Carolyn Ailes, Ronald Passwater Sr. and Howard Passwater Jr., her niece, Carlene Eyster and two angel babies.

Deborah's friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Xavier Hampton officiating. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229.
