Indianapolis - Deborah Kay Covert Miller, 70, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 24, 1951 in Cleves, OH to the late Clarence Covert and Dorothy Jane Wright Wycoff. Mrs. Miller was united in marriage to the late Rubin Miller on August 7, 1968. Mr. Miller passed away October 31, 2018. She was a past employee of Chevrolet and, together with her husband, owned Miller's Used Furniture and several real estate properties. She also enjoyed serving her family as a homemaker.
Mrs. Miller enjoyed going to the casino and watching the Hallmark Channel. Her hobbies included playing cards, singing and dancing. She loved spending time with her family including her beloved dogs, Foxy and Sassy Girl.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Rubin Miller; son, Arlan Francis Miller; daughter, Teresa Louise Miller; and sister, Callie Jean Miller. She is survived by her loving children: Wanda Lavada Roberts and her husband, Dusty, Dorthea Jane Wilcher and her husband, Danny, Lisa Marie Miller, Robert Lee Miller and his wife, Michelle, Rubin James Miller and his wife, Betsy, Deborah Kay Wooden; and Sue Bailey (whom she loved like a daughter); sisters: Pamela Davis, Barbara Wycoff, Linda Sue Evans and Arlene Dubecky; 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many other loving family members and dear friends.
Mrs. Miller's family will receive friends Friday, August 13, 2021, from 4 – 7 pm and Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 10 am – 12 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 12 pm at the funeral home with Chaplain Mike Mercer officiating. A committal service will follow at Acton Cemetery, 7900 Acton Road, Indianapolis, IN 46259.
