David L. Toth

Indianapolis - David L. Toth, 68, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He valiantly fought cancer for over two years. David was born November 2, 1950 in Washington DC to the late Joseph and Dorothy Bottorff Toth.

Dave was a music lover and a talented singer and musician. His family loved to hear him play guitar and mandolin, especially as part of several bands he formed with his brother, Jim, and friends. Dave could really "cut a rug" and had lots of fun dancing with his wife and daughters. He loved shooting hoops with his son. Dave also enjoyed just listening to music and before he got sick, having a few drinks.

If you ever stopped by to visit Dave, you may have found him watching one of his favorite classic TV shows, like Andy Griffith, All in the Family, Sanford and Son or The Three Stooges. You may have heard him exclaim, "Why, soitenly!" more than once. Always quick with a joke or satirical comment, his humor is something his family and friends will miss most of all.

Dave was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Beech Grove, IN. He spent time as an Eagle Rider and raised a lot of money for charitable causes. The Eagles was his "home away from home" and he treasured the friendships he formed there. Always one to love a good time, he had found the perfect place to hang out.

David was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; mother, Dorothy; and brother, John. He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years (together for 36 years), Angela; daughters: Susan DeLoach (and her husband, Rick), Marianne Weis, and Sarah Toth (and her fiancé, Jon Kern); son, David Toth; brother, Jim Toth; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends

Dave lives on through his family's love of classic rock, great TV, and their love for dancing and having a great time. We know, though, that we'll never do it quite like he did! Dad, we're so glad your pain is gone, but don't know how ours will ever end.

Dave's family will receive friends Saturday, July 13, 2019, from 10 – 11 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of his life will follow at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Agal officiating. After the service, there will be another celebration of Dave's life from 12 - 5 pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 712 Main Street, Beech Grove, IN 46107.

In lieu of flowers, Dave requested that donations be made to the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Beech Grove.
