David Dale Nelis

Mooresville - David Dale Nelis, 63, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024. He was born July 10, 1960 in Beech Grove, IN to the late Russell and Grace Green Nelis. David graduated from Southport High School in 1978. He was employed by Schuster Trucking in Le Mars, Iowa where he served as a truck driver. David loved motorcycles, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan Penrod Nelis; parents, Russell and Grace Green Nelis; sister, Diana Rickett; and nephew, Jordan Nelis. He is survived by his children, Jena Penrod and Benjamin Hardy; siblings: Thomas “Tom” Nelis and his wife, Robin, Charlene Ray and her husband, Rick, Michael A. “Tony” Nelis and his wife, Terri and Samantha “Sam” Bowling and her husband, Harold; grandchildren, Jordin Burch and Little Ben; great-grandchildren, Jaci and Jasper; lots of nieces and nephews; and many other devoted family members and friends.
