David Wayne Goodman

INDIANAPOLIS – David Wayne Goodman, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at his residence. He was born on March 28, 1969 to the late James J. and Janet L. Holt Goodman in Vincennes, Indiana. David married Alicia D. Fleener in June of 2005 at Faith Baptist Church in Lafayette, Indiana.

David graduated from Lincoln High School in 1987 and then attended Vincennes University and later Purdue University where he received his PhD in Engineering & Technology. Professionally, David was a professor at IUPUI. He was a member of New Life Church and CERT.

David’s hobbies were hunting, traveling and playing computer games. He was an avid Star Wars fan and a John Wayne enthusiast. David loved his family immensely and he enjoyed attending friend and family get togethers. People know David as kind, generous, loving and a believer in Christ. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

David is survived by his loving wife, Alicia D. Goodman; his daughter, Rebecca Goodman; his son, Eli Goodman; his siblings, Debbie (Paul Black) Goodman, Dee (Jim) Witte, Jeff (Teresa) Goodman and Bill (Lynn) Goodman; his aunts, Beth Holt and Ingrid Goodman; and his uncle, Jerry Holt.

David's friends and family may visit from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at New Life Church, 7010 East Thompson Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46239. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM.
